DELTA JUNCTION — A man who holed up in a Delta Junction gas station Wednesday morning shot at Alaska State Troopers to keep them at bay during an hours-long standoff that ended with the suspect safely taken into custody.

Here’s what we know so far: Sarah’s sister, Molly, married a guy named Mike Wooten who is an Alaska State Trooper. Mike and Molly had a rocky marriage. When the marriage broke up, there was a bitter custody fight that is still ongoing. During the custody investigation, all sorts of things were brought up about Wooten including the fact that he had illegally shot a moose (yes folks this is Alaska), driven drunk, and used a taser (on the test setting, he reminds us) on his 11-year old stepson,

“Alaskan State Trooper Mike Wooten was involved in a bitter custody battle with Palin’s sister, Molly McCann. Palin hired a private investigator to observe Wooten in order to determine whether Wooten was a threat to McCann and the rest of the family. No wonder Alaska Governor Sarah Palin felt her brother in law wasn’t fit to be a cop: “After complaints by the Palin family in 2005 Mr Wooten was suspended briefly for shooting a moose illegally, and using a Taser gun on his 10-year-old stepson.” The man who was supposed to discipline Wooten didn’t, and is now bleating about Palin’s interference.
